Amber first became attracted to the spiritual path as a college student in the late sixties. On a quest for “enlightenment” she was led to meditation, to yoga, to India, and to the feet of many sages and saints. But after more than a quarter century had passed, consumed in intense practice, fasting, study, and long retreats in foreign lands, she began to wonder: “Why hasn’t enlightenment happened? Why hasn’t my personality been fixed? Why, by now, doesn’t my life look like I imagined it should look?”
It was after a powerful meeting with an American teacher named Gangaji that she realized enlightenment wasn’t about life looking a certain way, wasn’t about fixing the personality, wasn’t about HER at all. It was in fact the preoccupation with a “me” that obscured the unbelievable truth: enlightenment is already here; already who we are!
The unfolding of that truth is the stuff of Amber’s writings and music. Author of the book Surprised By Grace, A Journey Beyond Personal Enlightenment, and two music CDs, Awakened From A Dream, and In The Heart Of All Being, her music and writings have found an audience with spiritual seekers all over the world, having distribution in Australia, Europe, South Africa, India, Canada and the U.S.
